COURSE INFORMATION

We specialise in onsite training programmes to meet our clients’ needs which satisfies the requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Hazardous Substance Regulations (HSWA), CAA Accredited courses, Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and New Zealand Standard NZS8409:2021 Management of Agrichemicals.

Aerial Pilot Chemical Rating
(Manned and Unmanned - Drones)

This 3-day training course is for pilots who apply chemicals from aircraft and/or UAV Drones. If you are a pilot responsible for applying agrichemicals, fertilisers and VTAs for aerial operations, you must attend this course under CAA Part 61 and Part 102.

The Educhem Pilot Chemical Rating certificate is valid for 5 years.

This course is for Pilots who need to renew their Pilot Chemical Rating. Note: Pilots have an exemption from Worksafe for the requirement to hold a Certified Handler Certificate.

The Growsafe Pilot Chemical Rating certificate is valid for 5 years.












Aerial Ground Crew

This one day course provides essential information and instructions for Ground Crew handling, mixing and loading agrichemicals, fertilisers, fuels and baits for Aerial Applications.












Onsite Management Training in the use of
Hazardous Substances

We offer a management training course for Managers and PCBU’s to better understand the Regulations and requirements when managing staff involved with Hazardous Substances. We have the expertise to deliver this course Inhouse where required.












Online Regulation 4.5 Training Hover over here to read more

Under the Hazardous Substances Regulations 2017, every worker who uses, handles, manufactures, or stores a hazardous substance (including hazardous waste) must be provided with training and instruction that is compliant to Regulation 4.5 standards.

We partner with Rifft Solutions to provide an online version of this course which you can complete at your own pace












Certified Handler Certificates for
Agrichemicals & VTA's

For the Certified Handler Course if you use ANY Agrichemicals that fall under Worksafe classes 6.1A and 6.1B then you will need a Certified Handler certificate to buy, store and apply.

If you are requiring a CSL, this course only forms part of your requirement to achieve this certificate. (Certificates have a 5 year life).

This is a requirement to meet the Health and Safety at work Hazardous Substance Regulation 2017, Regulation 4.5 (3) Training and Instruction.

Educhem has the expertise to deliver this course inhouse where required.












Growsafe Basic Hover over here to read more

The Basic course provides essential information and instruction for anyone that has not sprayed agrichemicals before.

It includes understanding and interpreting a label, SDS understanding and basic spray equipment including knapsacks.

This course is for agrichemical users working independently (i.e with little or no supervision) with responsibility for a single site/property. Attendees must be able to provide 8 copies of spray diaries with 8 different dates spread over a 3-6 month period.

This is a requirement from the EPA for Class 9.

The course is a one-day course that goes from approx. 8:30am- 4:00pm.

This training is designed to assist you in becoming a Registered Chemical Applicator, based on NZ 8409:2021 Management of Agrichemicals.

For the safe, responsible and effective use of agrichemicals, guiding you with the practical and theory requirements under HSWA, EPA Regulations and Regional Plans.

For those renewing their RCA certification Murray Beare can assist those who use acutely toxic substances triggering HSNO hazard classes 6.1A or 6.1B GHS Hazard Classes (H300, H310, H330).












Onsite Spray Equipment Operator Training Hover over here to read more

This course covers the risk assessment of the sprayer, the functions, sprayer operations, maintenance and nozzle technologies. This is all done at your own site by experienced spray applicators.

It is vital to clean up spills your workplace safely as soon as they happen to prevent contaminating the surrounding environment.

Spill kit training teaches warehouse staff, drivers, loaders, managers and anyone who work with or store chemicals how to contain, clean up and dispose of a chemical spill safely.












Respirator Fit Testing Hover over here to read more

It is a requirement under AS/NZS 1715:2009 “Use and maintenance of respiratory protective devices” that all staff required to wear a face mask undergo an annual fit test.

The purpose of the test is to ensure an effective seal against contaminants in the atmosphere, when wearing either a full or half face mask.
